Dine Outdoors at Urban Roots

Hey friends, we’re aware of the news about restaurants closing indoors and will be adjusting service to meet the new requirements.

As of right now we can remain open for dine-in service in our outdoor beer garden only. We’re also exploring ways to add more outdoor space in order to accommodate those who would like to safely dine in with us.

Friendly reminder that all parties are limited to 6 people or less and wearing a face covering is mandatory when you are not seated at your table. Plus we’re still offering curbside takeout service with online ordering if you’d like to pick up food/beer and enjoy it at home.

These guidelines are changing daily and our team is ready to adjust as needed. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we all get through this together.

Black is Beautiful

BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL — We’re proud to be joining over 600 breweries in the Black is Beautiful initiative led by San Antonio’s Weathered Souls Brewing. This initiative was created to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face every day. The mission is to bridge the gap that’s been around for ages and provide a platform to show that the brewing community is an inclusive place for everyone of any color. ⠀

We will be making a donation for every barrel we produce to a local nonprofit that supports our Black community in the fight for equality and inclusion. ⠀

Black is Beautiful is an Imperial Stout and will be the first beer we’ve ever released in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans. Thank you to @WeatheredSoulsBrewing for leading this initiative and bringing the brewing community together in support of this movement for change. ⠀

We are committed to the long-term work of creating equality and inclusivity in our industry, our own lives and our world. We challenge you to do do the same. ⠀

We Stand With You

Thanks to everyone who came out today as part of our We Stand With You initiative. And thank you to all of the hospitality professionals who joined us by hosting their own sessions. ⠀

This was an important first step and we had a really great conversation but there’s still work to do. The time for action is now and we can all be a part of it. ⠀

We’ll be hosting more of these sessions in the future and will continue to work with our local industry friends. Not only to advance these much need conversations but to create plans for action. ⠀

Enough is enough.

We will be closed from 12pm to 3pm tomorrow, June 4 to step outside with our team and with hospitality workers across Sacramento to show support for our Black community. We’ll be using this time to to have an honest conversation about what we can and will do as a business and as individuals to make a difference. We’ve asked our friends at local breweries, bars, restaurants, etc. to do the same. We would love for you to come and join us. ⠀

Urban Roots stands for inclusivity, equality and opportunity for all people. We are grateful to have a diverse team that embraces and shares these values with us. But we still have so much work to do. ⠀

Words alone won’t create change and we know that. What we need now is action. We’re committed to doing our part and we believe that you will be too. ⠀

HERE WE GO!

You can start making reservations RIGHT NOW for dine-in service on our website. Our dine-in hours this weekend will be 4pm to 10pm. If you’re not ready to dine-in then you can still use our takeout option and order online from 12pm to 9pm. Here’s what you can expect if you’re planning to dine-in at Urban Roots this weekend: ⠀

Reservations: In order to manage crowds and limit capacity we will be taking reservations. Walk-ins will be accepted only if tables are available. Do yourself a solid and just make a reservation right now! ⠀

Ordering: Help us keep lines down by having your order ready before you get in line. If possible, send one person from your party to place the order for your table. We can close tabs and split checks at your table before you leave. Don’t forget that beer can only be sold in the same transaction as a meal per new state regulations. ⠀

Social Distancing: We’re practicing social distancing and ask that if you’re coming to dine-in with us that you will too. ⠀

These are strange times and it seems like every day we are making adjustments to get by. We want to say thanks in advance for your patience as we navigate this together. Lines may be a little longer. Wait times may vary. But it’ll all be worth it when you get that first bite of food and first sip of cold beer. ⠀

Visit our website for answers to some frequently asked questions. If you don’t see an answer just drop it in the comments and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. ⠀

See y’all soon! ⠀

We're reopening for dine-in service
IMG_1966.jpg

Hey friends,

We are thrilled to share that Urban Roots will be reopening for dine-in service this Friday, May 29. Not ready to dine-in? That’s okay! You’ll still be able to order online with curbside pickup.

California has provided restaurants with a set of guidelines for reopening and over the past week our team has been working to ensure that we are prepared to welcome you back. You’ll notice some differences around here such as limited seating to practice social distancing, employees wearing masks, and no more waiting in long lines.

For answers to frequently asked questions, click here.

Here are some tips on how to have the best experience and a heads up on what you can expect before you arrive:

  • Make A Reservation: Use our online reservation service to book a table in advance and we will seat you when you arrive. Walk-ins are welcome if tables are available. However we highly recommend making a reservation before you arrive to ensure that we can seat you. Please note that your entire party must be present before we can seat you. Tables are limited to a maximum of six people including children. Time slots will be limited to two hours for each party with a 30 minute break for cleaning between reservations.

  • Contactless Ordering: No more waiting in line! In an effort to encourage social distancing we will be using a contactless ordering system. Once you are seated you will be able to order directly from your smartphone via the ToastTakeout app or by ordering directly from our website. Once you have placed an order you can kick back and we’ll do the rest.
Pro tip: Download the ToastTakeout app before you arrive and create a profile for the quick and easy ordering.

  • Social Distancing: Please maintain six feet of distance between you and other guests whenever possible. Keep wandering from your table to a minimum out of respect for each other and our team. Tables have been spaced six feet apart to meet the state and federal guidelines. We’ll bring condiments, silverware, napkins and anything else you might need to your table.

  • Food + Beer: All beer orders for in-house consumption must include food on the same transaction. This is a requirement by the state of California and there are no exceptions. We’ve got a full kitchen with plenty of food that will pair well with your beer.

  • Face Coverings: Wearing a face covering is not required for guests but is required for our team when they are interacting with guests. California suggests that all people wear a face covering whenever social distancing is not possible.

So we've made some changes...but what hasn’t changed are the great vibes and friendly service or the tasty food and beer that you know and love. To help ensure everyone’s safety as we welcome you back into our dining rooms, we ask that we make the following promises to each other.

Our promise to you...

● We will continue leading in safe sanitation practices in both the restaurant and brewery. Health and safety for everyone is a top priority.

● All employees have been instructed to stay home if they are feeling any symptoms of sickness and have paid sick leave available to them.

● Our indoor & outdoor seating meet all social distancing guidelines.

● Hand sanitizer and handwashing stations are available to all guests.

● We clean and sanitize all tables and hard surfaces after every use. Each table has been thoroughly cleaned before you are seated.

● All place settings, utensils, menus, and condiments are sanitized after every use or are single-use.

● We are here for you. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask for a manager.

Your promise to us...

● If you have been exposed to COVID-19 recently or have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, or shortness of breath), please help us keep everyone safe by using our contactless delivery/takeout options

● If you have underlying health conditions or are otherwise concerned about contracting COVID-19, please use our curbside takeout option.

● You will help us practice social distancing by maintaining 6 feet of distance between you and other guests whenever possible.

If you have any questions about our operations or our promise to you, please email us at hello@urbanrootsbrewing.com and we’ll respond as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing y’all this weekend!

Cheers,

Your Friends Urban Roots

Update (3/15/2020):
Hi everyone — Urban Roots is still open and operating with normal hours today and will continue to remain open this week however there will be changes in our operations. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
Some of those changes include online ordering and a curbside pickup program for food and canned/bottled beer orders as well as new measures to encourage social distancing. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
We will have more information to share with you tomorrow. Thanks for your support during this difficult time.

—————————————————————————

Hello friends — these past few days have been full of strangeness and uncertainty. We’ve been experiencing all of this with you as it unfolds and not just as a business but as people too. We’ve already seen some of the immediate effects on our community and anticipate that there are more to come. Our first priority here has always been to create a safe and clean space for our guests and we remain committed to that. ⠀

As a brewery and restaurant we adhere to strict cleaning procedures on a regular basis. However, in these times we recognize that it is important for us to do everything we can to ensure health and safety for our guests as well as our team. ⠀

Earlier this week we set up a hand sanitizer station by the front door and added extra cleaning procedures to our daily tasks. We’re cleaning all surfaces thoroughly and frequently including door handles, ordering stations, tables, chairs, napkin dispensers, etc. If you’d like someone to give your space an extra wipe down before you get seated please don’t hesitate to ask! ⠀

We understand that some folks might not want to venture out into public for very long. So we’d like to remind you that we’ve got a cooler full of cans and bottles that you can take home to enjoy. We also accept to go food orders via phone. Give us a call at (916) 706-3741 and choose option 1 to place your order and we’ll have it ready for you to pick up. ⠀

Most importantly — be kind to each other and we can all get through this together. If you have any questions or concerns, email us at hello@urbanrootsbrewing.com and we’ll be in touch with you as soon as possible.
