We’re open only for TAKEOUT food and beer from 12pm to 8pm starting now and continuing through this weekend due to the unsafe air quality. We believe this is the best thing to do for the safety of our staff and our guests. ⠀
We will continue to monitor the air quality throughout the weekend and keep all of you updated on when we will reopen for outdoor dining. ⠀
Until then we encourage everyone to use our online ordering option with curbside service. Thanks for your support and understanding.
Q: I noticed you have a few beers that are called “Isolate”…what’s up with that? ⠀
⠀
A: Great question! We kicked off our Isolate series last year with the release of Isolate Strata. Each beer in this series uses the same recipe with a single hop variety. By changing the hop each time we are able to isolate, analyze and evaluate the characteristics of each hop. ⠀
⠀
This gives you, the drinker, a chance to taste the hops in all their glory and see how a single hop can impact the flavor of a beer. It also gives us the chance to provide feedback to the growers which helps them determine which hops will be propagated for future harvest and helps us determine which hops will be used again in our own beers. ⠀
Isolate Simcoe is the most recent release in our Isolate series and features 100% hand selected Simcoe hops. Pick up a 4-pack here at the pub or try it on draft next time you stop in.
Happier Meal: Pick two sandwiches + two fries + a 32 oz. Crowler OR two 16 oz. cans of beer all to go for only $25. Available every Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm until 9:30pm. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀

⠀⠀

We are beyond thrilled to be releasing Virtual Connection, a Belgian Pale Ale collaboration with @AllagashBrewing for @FreshFestDigi. ⠀⠀
“It seems like it was just yesterday I tasted Allagash Curieux for the first time. 12 years later it’s hard to fathom that we’re collaborating with one of my top 3 favorite breweries in the world.” - Rob Archie, Cofounder of Urban Roots ⠀⠀
Virtual Connection is a Belgian Pale Ale featuring Saphir and Tettnang hops fermented with Belgian yeast. It’s fruity, hoppy, slightly bitter and refreshingly crisp. At 4.5% this beer is perfect for sipping throughout the rest of Summer.
What’s the first rule of “Hero’s Duty”? No Cuts, No Buts, No Coconuts. What’s “No Cuts, No Buts, No Coconuts”? It’s a Tropical West Coast IPA featuring Mosaic, El Dorado, Citra, HBC 472 and HBC 682. Close your eyes, take a sip and you’ll be transported to paradise. There are NO coconuts in this beer, despite what your tastes buds might tell you, What’s even more exciting is that this is the first solo recipe by Emmy, our Lead Brewer. She’s put in plenty of work brewing and contributing to other Urban Roots recipes but this is the first one that’s 100% Emmy which of course means it’s 100% awesome.
Friends w/ Social Distances is a collaboration with our friends at Altamont Beer Works. Last month they released a version that was brewed at their facility and now we’re releasing ours which was brewed here at Urban Roots. This fruity and dank Double IPA features Centennial, Summit and Simcoe plus it was dry hopped with Nelson, Cashmere and Mosaic.
Both of these new beers will be available in cans and on draft THIS FRIDAY, July 31 when we open at 12pm.

Q: “What practical steps would you like to see the restaurant industry take from here on out?”⠀
⠀
A: “Inclusive hiring habits are No. 1. Why aren’t we having job fairs in more diverse communities and getting Black people into the beer world or the coffee world or the food world? It’s our job to get people excited about our industry. We can’t be victims and say, “All the résumés I get are from people who are white.” No, let’s go out and seek those résumés.” - Rob Archie, Co-Owner of Urban Roots ⠀
⠀
Thanks to Curtis Yee and SacTown Magazine for taking the time to speak with Rob about the We Stand With You initiative, the problem with color-blind hiring and the importance of listening. You can read the full Q&A on page 31 in the latest issue which is on the shelves now. ⠀
